What is Virtual Reality?
Virtual Reality (VR) is the term that describes a three-dimensional computer-generated environment that can be explored and interacted with by a person or persons who is ‘immersed’ into the environment.
Essentially, it is the creation of a virtual environment that is presented to our senses in such a way that we experience it as if we were really there.
What environments can be created?
The immersive environment can reflect the real world, or it can be one of fiction, taking you to a fantastical place that is unachievable in the real world.
I’m not a gamer – is MM Lounge for me?
You bet! Virtual Reality is designed for gamers and non-gamers alike. To get you going, a staff member will walk you through VR setup. Then, they will recommend games and VR environments based on your requests.
What equipment does MM Lounge use?
The HTC Vive is a head-mounted display (HMD), hand controllers and tracking peripherals that allow the user to see and interact with the virtual environment. Infrared sensors track each component transferring your movement to your character in the game.
How many people can play at a time?
We have 6 VR booths that accommodate up to 6 players.
Are there any age restrictions?
You must be 6 or older to use a VR booth. Children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Can I book out the whole lounge?
Yes. You can book out all of MM Lounge and host your own group by the hour for only $180. Please ask us.
What drinks and snacks do you provide?
We have a range of beverages, including soft drink, fruit juice, water, beer and wine. We have a limited selection of snacks.
I’m hosting a group – can I bring my own food?
MM Lounge does not provide food, other than snacks. We are happy for you to order in food for your group, such as pizza. Ask at the bar for a list of local food providers.
